Such good questions, Ann. You sure are on top of things! My understanding regarding Bylaws are if something changes "above" your bylaws and filters down to affect them, the chapter (or Division) doesn't need to vote on those changes because they are made only keep the chapter bylaws in line with the Division and/or International bylaws. The changes need to be made, they are not an "option" for the chapter/division to vote on. Also, if chapters change their bylaws, and those changes affect the division or international (such as dues changes for the chapter) then the chapter needs to inform the division board and HQ. I love all your questions and thoughts, keep 'em coming! ------------------------------------------- Romona Morris CAP-OM Incoming 2012-2013 WA-AK Division Treasurer -------------------------------------------

This message has been cross posted to the following eGroups: General IAAP Discussion and Parliamentary Procedure - questions and advice . ------------------------------------------- After a total revamp of our chapter bylaws, we have changes coming down from our Division (with some on hold for EFAM changes) and know at least about correlative changes regarding R&E and RTF into "the Foundation' once logistics are completed.
My question is, if the changes flow down as expected, do the changes to the Chapter Bylaws need to actually be submitted and voted upon by the members - they look the same as when we deleted things like District meetings, etc. and more like a correlation than a substantive change so I'd like to 'spare' the members if at all possible. RRNR seems to speak generally to this, but I would like to know what others' plans are for the after-EFAM changes.
THANKS!
